Do you want to know the origin and history of Pere Vives' exchanges?

Since 1996 this High School has been always involved in all kind of exchanges. Along these 18 years many teachers have invested many years in coordinating all kind of international projects.
One of the first private exchanges ever made was with the United States it was led by Mª Angels Mascaró a science teacher from our school.   That experience contributed to grow the belief inside our educational community that such intercultural exchanges improved essential skills in life. Our students had the opportunity to get in touch with a different culture, language by living it all first-hand with a host family.
From that point onwards many teachers have collaborated in developing the different Comenius Project, in which our High-School has been taking part. However there has always been a Comenius Coordinator, who is meant to be the one to do the paperwork. Anton Mª Marimón and José Ramon Garcia used to be the ones that traditionally were in charge of developing all the Comenius Projects. Antón has just retired and and José Ramón left our school in 2012. They have been obviously not alone, many art, P.E and music teachers as well as all the headteachers up to  now, together with the foreign languages and the technology department have been helping them in developing the different materials made along the Projects.
Two years ago we finished the last Comenius, which a multilateral project was called ‘Wordcrossing’ that we developed together with Turkey, Rumania, Poland, Greece and Italy.
Nowadays we are opening new partnerships within the new programme Erasmus +, which means a new framework to develop the international Projects in our school.  We are now writing a new Erasmus project with other European Partners, Germany, Netherlands, Italy, Hungary, Romania and we hope to get our project through and achieve to apply for it successfully.
We still keep the old Partnerships with Sweden, which allow us to do a private exchange in 1st of Batxillerat. Nowadays we are working again with an old Partner from Netherlands in a private exchange in Hardewijk. We will host 45 students from this upper secondary school in April 2016 and we will visit them in September 2016.
Since 2013 we have introduced a new alternative thanks to new programme Erasmus+ to achieve also mobilities for our students. In fact there were 4 students from Pere Vives Vich, who stayed in Finland for 3 months long, attended to lessons and learn from first-hand the finnish culture living with a host family. Right now there’s a student from the same school, Loimaa Lukio, who is now spending a whole year among us. She’s attending to regular lessons in 1st Batxillerat in Pere Vives Vich.
The need of opening new bridges abroad is one of the goals of the new headteaching team from our school, that’s why we have been recently awarded with a KA1 programme, which will enable some teachers in our school to travel to England in order to broaden their CLIL skills being able to develope and integrate English in their regular science, mathematics and humanistic lessons.
With the help of the headteaching staff and the teachers involved in GEP, together with the English Department Anna Vilaseca is currently coordinating all these international projects, as well as the EUROSCOLA optative subject, which is made along the 3rd of ESO.
